story & personality
Limn was once a dilapidated watchtower, atop the tallest peak of the Adirondacks.
Now she's been erased from records, faded from both maps and memory.
She is calm, gentle, clement, and speaks with a pleasant, lilting airiness like winter wind.
She communicates in a bright, open, curious way. She states things plainly, no matter how painfully vulnerable.
She likes to ask questions. Sometimes the smallest ones are hardest to answer.
It seems that she has a fondness for moths, fireflies, and especially snow.
Limn prefers to travel everywhere on foot. She will bleed into the snow or return to her nature features to rest, leaving only her watchtower behind. This appears as a physical building and can, in fact, grant respite to weary travelers. If they are not gone by the morning, however, they may find themselves in a completely unfamiliar forest themselves, hundreds of miles away. Some suspect Limn does this on purpose to lead lost hikers back home herself. But those are only rumors.
She can usually be seen wandering in forests along the east coast of the US. Limn favors high elevations but is beginning to branch out, pun intended. She will also travel to other forested areas around the world. If she spends a significant amount of time in one, she may become literally impressed with a conifer from that area, adding it to her form.
Several esk have made her acquaintance--some more willing than others. Limn is a friend to all (whether they like it or not.)
She can be a cheerful companion or a soft presence for guidance. It seems not only humans are drawn to her light; some esk seem to enjoy being ferried on her back.
But for all her contacts and wide network of friends, she is usually seen alone.

Limn's nature features rarely appear at the same time. Instead, they manifest and demanifest depending on what area of the forest biome she's in. Her haunt is vast, and she aims to blend in as much as possible, sometimes going so far as to leaving with a new conifer on her back. When exploring new areas or meeting new people, Limn will usually take to her shape-shifted form, which is lithe and a little taller than a bull moose. Otherwise, you may see her wading through the trees and lumbering over mountains with a watchtower on her back. An eerily warm light emanates from it, casting an inviting glow wherever she roams.
Occasionally you may look underfoot or spot a ghost-whisper light tracing the contours of the land's pitches, rolls, rises, and falls. She may use this enchantment intentionally to help mark changes in elevation to those wandering in the area, but more often than not, it is a subconscious reflex. It is most active when she is dreaming.
Her light elemental is usually contained within her watchtower or her lantern; however, Limn may extend this beyond her body in stressful situations to obscure her figure. The closest approximation of being exposed to this is akin to snow-blindness.
Limn sometimes plays or sleeps by melting/phasing into snowbanks.

You are free to incorporate Limn into your stories; all art, writing, and interactions are welcome. She is a gentle and friendly esk who speaks and moves softly, as if treading weightlessly on snow. I would love it if she visited your esk and their forests! Though Limn travels around almost incessantly, she does not stray far from forested areas. She feels a little uncomfortable when not sheltered within the heart of a great woodland, but she may be spotted in any woodsy area anywhere in the world. She can be seen trekking through the Conservatory, but she does not seem to frequent it for long.
transformations
Currently Limn is available for transformations and to be used as a creator esk, story depending. Feel free to contact me on discord (snoodles#2090) or deviantart to ask. This is not a given, but you are more than welcome to ask! Though she is an abnormal, Limn will only pass on transformations to esk in forested areas (but not exclusively the forest biome).
